Benguet issues GCQ guidelines

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, July3 (PIA) - - Governor Melchor Diclas issued Executive Order Number 2020-043 r on the revised guidelines on the implementation of General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the province.

This following the announcement of President Rodrigo Duterte placing the province under GCQ from July 1-15, 2020. For the whole month of June, the province was under Modified General Community Quarantine.

The GCQ guidelines that will be in effect from July 1-15 cover allowed and not allowed movements of residents, establishments, and Authorized persons outside residence, mass gatherings, and Hated Sundo and repatriation operations.

On movements of residents, still not allowed and to remain in their residences at all times are those below 21 years old, 60 years old and above, those with immunodeficiency, co-morbidities or other health risks, 60 years old and above, and pregnant women. They can only go out except when indispensable for obtaining essential goods and services or for work in permitted industries and office.

Included APOR are health workers, government officials and government frontline personnel, those travelling for medical or humanitarian reasons, workers in permitted establishments and persons providing essential goods and services and public utilities, essential skeletal workforce, repatriated of returning to their residences, those travelling to the airport for travel abroad, other persons transported through the efforts of the local and national government agencies upon conduct of the necessary quarantine protocols and concurrence of the receiving local government unit, uniformed personnel and government officials and employees for official business, OFWs, permanent residents of foreign jurisdictions, and stranded foreign nationals leaving for abroad, except those travelling to countries where travel restrictions are in place.

Departing passengers may be accompanied by not more than one person and shall be allowed to return to his/her point of origin.

Those accessing essential goods and services and work in the offices or industries permitted to operate are allowed.

Movement for leisure purposes, contact sports, gyms/fitness studios and sports facilities are also not allowed.

However, outdoor exercises such as walking, jogging, running, biking, tennis, badmintorn, range shooting, skate boarding are allowed.

The Emergency Operations Center will continue operation for hatid-sundo of locally stranded individuals and repatriation of returning overseas Filipinos.

Establishments not allowed to operate are those categorized as leisure and other similar services, internet and computer shops, other education and support establishments such as but not limited to testing centers, tutorial and review centers, language, driving, dance, acting and voice schools, entertainment industries such as cinemas, theaters, karaoke bars, kid amusement industries such as playrooms, rides, libraries, archives, museums and cultural centers, tourist destinations, travel agencies, tour operators, reservation services and related activities, other personal care services such as massage parlors, sauna, facial care, waxing, and pet grooming services.

Allowed are malls and shopping centers except leisure and other similar services.

Mass gatherings are not allowed except for religious gatherings but limited to not more than 10 persons. (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Benguet)
